Top 5 of 25 : Sheep Blaster Free

Now that I’m semi settled into school I’ve got to get back to talking about the iPhone. One thing to look forward to in the near future is an actual product review. I haven’t opened the box yet, but I’m hoping it’s going to be a great product. I will hopefully have that for you as soon as possible. I’ve got a crazy week coming up so we will see. Anyway, today I’m starting a quick series. It only has one requirement for an app to make it into this series. It’s officially titled; Top 5 of the Top 25 Free Apps. In other words the top 5 apps right now under the free section of the app store. Perhaps after this series we will do the top 5 paid ones as well.

The series starts with an app called Sheep Launcher. It is currently sitting at the number one position under free apps in the U.S. also it appears in a lot of other countries as well. What a great place to have an app land. Sheep Launcher is a well put together app, very simple and very fun. Remember that formula app developers. Always follow the good old saying; K.I.S.S, Keep It Simple Stupid.

Anyway, the concept behind Sheep Launcher is easy. Launch the sheep into the air, and don’t let it touch the ground. You do that by tapping on the sheep as he is falling. A simple tap shoots him higher and higher. A long the way there are points to grab, things like pillows incase you miss one tap, and other things as you get higher and higher. I haven’t seen everything yet because I’m horrible at the game, and can’t keep my sheep launched for very long.

The following are some screen shots to just give you a feel of how the game looks. This first one is where you start the whole journey. Tap on PUSH and off the sheep goes.

Here are the only instructions on how to play the game. Tap the animal while he’s falling to boost him higher! Seriously that’s it. That’s how you play. Enjoy.

As you can now see in the last screen shot that I really am horrible at this game. My weak final height of 6983ft. I never even made it out of the atmosphere and into space.

So is Sheep Launcher worth the time to download and play? My vote says yes, it’s obviously number one for a reason. Also since it’s a free app then you have nothing to lose checking it out. Download it now, and let me know what you think about it. Thanks for reading, and stay tuned for app #2.
