Photos On The iPhone – PhotoSharp Free
July 17, 2009 by Ryan Ray
As far as I can tell, NO ONE, is enjoying all of these awesome photo app reviews. I mean, one person commenting. Weak sauce you guys, haha. Here I am busting my butt finding the best photo apps, not that I like photography or anything. What a waste of my time. Anyway tonight/today/this morning let’s hit up this great app called Photo Sharp. I’ve picked up the free one so it’s features are a little simplified, but that is ok I’m only looking for it to do one thing. Then if it does one thing I hope it does it well.
Like I said, Photo Sharp is free for you to try out and it sharpens your photos for you. As well as doing a little extra such as tint, saturation, and lightness. What a feature set eh? You’ve got a sharpness adjuster, then three sliders for tint, saturation, and lightness. Woo, the excitement! Only kidding. Once you open up Photo Sharp here is what your eyes are met with.

The beautiful loading screen of course! Let’s go through the controls at the bottom. First we have the open previous photo or take new box. Very helpful as this is where you start to choosing or taking a photo that needs sharpened. I always find that apps like these come more in handy post edit. I take pictures with the normal camera app, THEN take them into apps like this. Just a hint from a pro, take it for what it’s worth
.
Once you’ve got your picture here are some more screenshots of what you can do quickly and easily with your shot.

Of course you’ve got the apps main squeeze, sharpening your photo. Be careful with this slider, you never want to much sharpening. Unless that is the effect you are going for. Like I said be careful with it, but use as you see fit for the photo. Next to that picture is the fun little Hue, Saturation, and Lightness sliders. They just help to add a little pizaz to the picture you just sharpened. As always apply as you see fit, but don’t cry if others judge you for your bad application of saturation. Or if a great photo has been overly sharpened. Everyone’s a critic so guard your heart.
Like I mentioned earlier, there has yet to be one photo app that does it all for me. It’s getting harder to remember my workflow on the iPhone. Ok use the regular camera app, take that into zipix and enhance then load in PhotoSharp if it needs it. Then Tilt Shift, or Camera Bag, or Night Camera. Woo, exhausting I know. I’m still sitting and waiting on that magical all in one photo app.
So is Photo Sharp Free worth the time to download. As far as I know I’d say YES. There are often times when you may need a quick sharpen. Simply load it into Photo Sharp and get your work done in a few seconds. There are only seconds to waste before uploading the pic to TwitPic and showing it off to the world. Do what you can and make sure it’s a decent picture though, haha.
Check out Photo Sharp and let me know what you think by leaving a comment and telling me so. Thanks for reading!
