Is There A Gigantic Software Update In September?

Apparently through an email sent by the real Steve Jobs, or atleast someone who answers emails for him, there is an update coming in September that will cure all our iPhone 3G woes. But do we believe our old faithful Apple on their word? The recent launch mishaps of the iPhone 3G and MobileMe make me a little weary on Apple’s timing. It’s true they did release the 2.0 software on time and switch to MobileMe on time. But were both launches really ready? The 2.0 software has already seen 2 quick updates to it. MobileMe on the other hand has been up and down as they try and fix it. Really deep down I still have my faith in Apple to deliver on their word. Atleast you’ll know they’ll have angry customers if they don’t. Apple’s been very generous lately giving away MobileMe for just about free, given all of the problems they’ve had. Personally that’s about the price it’s worth so good job Apple. But iPhone 3G issues, let’s discuss those.
Issues
Issues, we all have them, but the issue that was discussed in the email was about people’s iPhones not letting them use app they’ve downloaded. The app would either crash and take you to the home screen, or the whole iPhone would crash. That drives me crazy when the whole iPhone crashes and sends me to a cold restart. I know I’ve been having the issue described in the email where you go to use an app and randomely it doesn’t work. All of my app problems have been solved by a time consuming, but simple, delete and redownload. One other way that the head honcho Steve Jobs himself recommends is the hard reset of your iPhone to solve the app not opening issue. To hard reset your iPhone simply hold the sleep/wake button and home button until it resets. On a side note have you ever wondered if Steve Jobs or any high up Apple employee has a “special” iPhone? For instance is Steve Jobs iPhone a 60GB silver iPhone? Do they have the same software, with the same bugs in it as us common folk? I always wonder about that, haha.
Anyway, the next issue that is effecting some iPhone users is their 3G speeds. It seems there is something wrong with the 3G that’s in some of our iPhones. It is only said to hamper 2% of the iPhones out there but enough to drive a woman to a class action lawsuit. Apparently when connected to the 3G network some are experiencing frequent dropped calls, as well as slow as molasses 3G speeds. Remember those new iPhone commercials, where they say something then say, “Twice as fast.” I really hope this issue is only on a few iPhones and not EVERYONE’S! If it is on all of our iPhones I plead that it’s just a software update away. Which is what Steve Jobs is promising in September, and by Apples timing that usually means late late September.
So there’s no use crying over spilt milk, or is there? Our sweet sweet iPhones work very hard for us, but still it’s annoying to have to restart your phone every time you want to use a different application. Imagine if you were showing off your new apps to a potential iPhone buyer and, POOF! the iPhone resets itself. Not a good way to sell iPhones to me Apple. I do hope you are good on your word and deliver in September, also put back in the push notification service that’s supposedly been taken out. What’s your take on all of this, are you having issues with your iPhone? Please let me know here and I’ll help sympathize with you. We’re all in this together
