Hello again to all of you iPhone nuts. I really hope you can forgive my lack of awesome posts lately. Since the last time I talked to you all I survived helping all of the new students move in, carrying futons and TV’s up to 4th floor, 4 days of orientation, Iron Man outdoors, a volleyball tournament, and my first day of classes. I’m just about done with day number 2 and thought I should get back to this posting business. I know I’ve missed out on a lot of iPhone news, I’ve been keeping track of what’s been happening as much as I can. So we’ll catch up in no time! Alright ready?! Here we go.
As for today I stumbled across this AWESOME application thanks to Apple and their pick of the week. And you should definitely know about this bad boy. This application goes by the name of Dial Zero, it’s developed by the sweet folks over at Next Mobile Web. The app of course is free, which is always a great thing in my book. Some apps do such simple functions and it annoys me deep down when developers charge 5 big bucks for something I could learn to code within a week. Haha, anyway let’s talk about this slick app.
If you’ve ever needed to contact customer service, you’ll really appreciate this app. Just for an example this summer. I had to call quite a few companies to get billing issues resolved, change our services, and try to order a product. It was excruciatingly painful to try to get ahold of an actual person to talk to. You wouldn’t believe that sometimes it took about 45 minutes for me to get to a person that knew how to help me. I won’t name the company, but I was trying to buy a camera and they gave me the biggest pain in the butt to get it. It was soo annoying to say the least. I eventually had memorized the quickest way to get to an actual representative, and that’s precisely what Dial Zero does.
Dial Zero will help you quickly, and completely skip most of those dumb automated message systems. We all know they are useless and a great waste of time. A waste of time for both us the consumer and a waste of their time as a business. And like I mentioned earlier a certain companies customer service system over the phone completely convinced me to not EVER shop there again. I’m sure they’ve turned off many many of customers with their shoddy service so what’s the point of having these systems? To me I see little benefit, unless the automation really does save time. So Dial Zero works simply by having a giant list of companies. Say for example you need to get ahold of Aflack Insurance. Find Afleck at the top of the list and tap on it. From there you will find their phone number and the quickest way to get ahold of a real person. It’s so handy and quick. One example they show is for United Airlines, it gives you the number to call then says “Press 0, then say agent, etc…” Hopefully then that get’s you to a person real quick.

Personally I downloaded this app right away after my experience this summer. I love being able to quickly get a hold of a person that can help me out. The worst thing a company can do is put me on hold for any longer than 5 minutes max. If they don’t have that many representatives to handle all the calls they better get more people. So check out this app if you hate automated machines and just want a person, like in the old days. Haha, not that I’ve ever experienced “The Old Days,” but I appreciate talking to a person. Let me know what you think in the comments. Talk to you all soon!
