I have officially bricked my first iPhone. I’ve been learning the basics of objective-c and the ins and outs of Xcode and had even started my first simple app just so I could play around. Then I had a brilliant idea, torrent 4.0 and put it on my iPhone. I thought it would be cool to see if I could run OS 4.0 without actually registering my device in the 99$ a year program. That was n00b mistake #1 in what will be the thousands as I try to learn to code for the app store. By the way, I love making interfaces for these sorts of things so if any one wants to partner and help me with the code I’m all for it! So here are my top 5 ways to not brick your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, any stinkin’ iDevice…

#5 – Don’t try to upgrade to an iDevice OS not supported by the free SDK.

This was what I just did, luckily I can still put my iPhone in restore mode. This allows me to restore to a clean firmware and then I have to sync up my info, apps, songs all over again. Not to mention re-jailbreak and get my tethering and turn by turn back! Stupid me, stupid me, stupid me!

#4 – Only use the iDevice simulator on your computer.

This isn’t the best testing ground, but at least you’ll keep all development on the desktop and away from your iDevice, this only tempts you to torrent the newest OS 4.0 and see if you can use it on your iDevice

#3 – Be careful when using iPwn, Apple knows…

Ok Apple doesn’t really know, or do they? iPwn for the Mac works great at jail breaking your iDevice, I’m hoping it works great a second time as I really need it to! PLZ iPWN!

#2 – Write clean, heavenly code that Steve Jobs would praise.

If you were making a porn app the SDK and iPhone would automatically know to brick you from ever trying to compile and run it, even the iDevice simulator would mysteriously crash every time you tried to open it. You’d probably get so frustrated that you’d give up on developing for the day and go do something else. While you do that a letter from Jobs is already en route and your Mac has decided to delete all your apps files. WOOPS!

#1 – Give an offering to the iGod.

At this point in time I am burning everything I have that may resemble a droid, windows computer, etc… All in my hopes to please the iGod and let my iDevice come back from it’s iHell. I loved my iPhone and don’t wish any kind of harm on it, his soul may be sitting somewhere right now being tortured because he was jailbroken. Come back buddy and let me treat you right this time. iPromise iGod as soon as iGet my iPhone back I’ll restore him to a clean 3.2. I’ll never jailbreak or mess with 4.0 again! Just give him back to me!

As a bonus tip don’t forget to openly bash flash!

Apple iPhone News, Reviews, Hacks, and More Copyright 2008 iPhone Nuts. I hope you’ve been reading and staying up to date with all the iPhone stuff lately. Don’t let the iPad overshadow your love for the iPhone. So let’s get into it for today.

Obviously after reading the title you can get a hint that I’m not entirely serious about putting these two up to battle in terms of features, quality, etc…The 7D would crush the iPhone if we are talking about technical specifications.Rather I’ll be putting these two head to head in theory of convenience. When I need to shoot something which is my go to device? What situations lend themselves to the iPhone or 7D, etc… So instead of talking about apertures, lens available, frames per second, etc… Let’s just consider the convenience factor.

We’ll start with video. The iPhone and the 7D both shoot video, obviously the 7D wins with it’s many flavors of video. 1080p and 30 and 24 FPS, and 720p at 60 FPS, while the iPhone shoots at maybe half that resolution. The real deal is that I find myself often shooting with my iPhone. That is when I’m not focused on visual quality, but just capturing a moment. If I need the quality then I definitely drop the iPhone quickly. The iPhone also let’s you share your video extremely fast. I can upload to YouTube, send to friends via email or MMS, etc… While with the 7D I must import and then I must compress it to fit onto YouTube, Vimeo, etc… it usually takes my iMac about 1.5 hours to compress 4 minutes of full HD from the 7D. Now given that the sound and video aren’t the best, I wouldn’t do anything that required professional footage with the iPhone but I’m thinking about some fun videos to make with it. If you want to see some really cool ideas check out incase’s videos with their iPhones showing off how strong their cases are.

What about photos? This is really where without a doubt I use my iPhone more than my 7D, sadly though… I hope to fix the problem this summer, but when it comes to convenience the iPhone rules again with it’s ability to quickly capture and share a shot. There are thousands of photo editing apps that will help spruce up your image as well. I’ve even gone so far as to start doing a 365 project all with my iPhone. Can it shoot in low light, trigger flashes, easily adjust aperture, ISO, etc… not a chance, but I can shoot a picture quicker than I can get a lens out and on my 7D.
In reality the 7D spanks the iPhone in any kind of video and photo shootout. But there are uses for both, more often I leave the 7D to when I need the power and professionalism. In everyday life I use the iPhone. It’s already with me and does a decent job at capturing moments that otherwise would disappear into time. I’m really excited about the next iPhone update as well, looks like an even better camera will be in it! What are your thoughts on convenience vs features? Let me know!

Apple iPhone News, Reviews, Hacks, and More Copyright 2008 iPhone Nuts. It’s something I’ve yet to really try out, but I wanted to give it a shot. I’m a full time student majoring in Marketing, Music Business, and Video/Cinema production! Besides that I love my iPhone, so what’s better than combining those two somehow. I always find it intriguing the way that people use their iPhones to help get things done, so as a student let me give you my perspective. This is how I use my iPhone to make my life just that much easier…

To Do List:

I prefer the app 2Do for my to do list, I love it. Syncs to my iCal over Wifi and has a beautiful interface. If it only brought in my Google calendars that would be AWESOME.

Homework:

Again I use the 2Do app to write down class assignments, I also use the simple built in notes app to write down a daily to do. It syncs right up and I can open them up from Mail and get work done. It feels so good to cross stuff off the list.

Wasting Time In Class:

Now there are a ton of apps I could list for this, hah. I immediately turn right to Digg, Mashable, Twitter, and Facebook to check out what’s going on in the world outside of class. From there I will read Macrumors, and check web stats with the app Ego. Playing games is too obvious on the iPhone, I don’t try to get away with that one.

Emails:

Obviously I use the built in mail app, if Apple keeps making it more like their desktop mail then I’ll keep loving it. I’ve never tried any other apps.

Calendar:

This is also another area where I stick to the built in calendar app. I also have a web bookmark to my Google calendars that I share with some of the groups I’m in. Both of these ways definitely help keep me on top of a student’s busy life.

Texting:

This is one great way to see if your friend is eating lunch at 12, or to get stuff planned out when you can’t make a phone call.

Twitter:

By far a great way for a student to stay social. Doesn’t matter where you are with an iPhone and a great Twitter app. My choice is Tweetie. Tweet some pics of a boring class, read your feed to see how boring your friends’ classes are, etc…

Coffee:

There are two apps that are essential for me. They help me find local coffee shops and if you are a college student coffee is almost as vital to your survival as oxygen is. One is the Starbucks app, cliche I guess but it’s a nice app. The other one I use is called Coffee Break. It is a sweet app for finding local coffee shops if you are in a new area.

Music:

This one is easy! I mostly use the built in iPod, but when tired of what I have I’ll turn on Pandora. This is a great way to find new music. Don’t forget about the Shazam app incase you are in one of those awesome coffee house and don’t want to ask anyone what’s on the stereo. You’d lose some scene points that way.

Mobile Blogging:

A no brainer here, students love to blog. I run all of my sites on Wordpress, so I use the Wordpress iPhone app. Simple as can be and works like a charm. I know there are probably some other mobile blogging apps, I just don’t know about them. Many college students use blogger, or wordpress.com I’m sure those work too on the iPhone.

Fun:

This is where my whole screen of iPhone games comes in. Tons of awesome games, some of my favorites are Paper Toss, Mini Squadron, and Doodle Jump. Also if your iPhone is jailbroken, there is a lot of fun to have with that. I’ll write up a post about that soon!

Photo Editing:

Again I have a whole screen devoted to all of my photo editing apps. I’ve been doing a iPhone 360 project with these apps, and it’s been so great to edit straight on the phone and post immediately! I did a whole series about photo editing apps you can see on the site.

Weather:

I just made a video about my weather apps, this is very important to me as I get ready for my day. Also to plan out our ultimate practices and whatnot. Weather apps are vital to me also when I’m walking to class. Just so I know what to wear and expect! You’ve got to be prepared.

What ways do you use your iPhone? Are you a student, business man, teacher, scientist, etc…? Let me know how you use your iPhone and does it do it’s job well? While some of you head to work, I must head to class and take tests, quizzes, etc… Speaking of that I want to apologize for a lackluster week last week. Besides being super busy my Great Grandmother passed away and I was back in MO for the services. Now that I’ve caught up to class and work I’ve a break to talk to you about 3 of my favorite apps to help pass the time away. Now I’m not saying that during work, or class you should be utilizing these techniques to pass the time. Although I will admit that I am very guilty of doing so, these are for when you have time to kill and would rather use an app to do so instead of counting the threads in the carpet.

I was inspired by this after traveling all last week, and also inspired from sitting through boring classes. There is always points in the day when you can pass some time by using your iPhone.

Here are my top three apps that at the moment are my favorite ways to pass the time.

#3 – FML, TWI, ProTip apps

Technically there are 3 whole apps right here, but that’s the kind of bonus you get when you’re here with me. I’ve included these three in one because really they are all very similar. They are all made by the same people Enormego. If you’ve ever browsed and read Fmylife.com then you already know what these three apps are like. F my life contains some pretty crazy stories about the bad luck that people have experienced. TWI is texts while intoxicated. Which is you guessed it, texts from intoxicated people. Contains some funny pictures, but isn’t for everyone. ProTip offers a nice sarcastic view on life and the following tips are often as humorous as can be. I wouldn’t recommend following their tips, take them more as a do not do tip.

#2 – Shovel

I’ve heard rumors that there is an official Digg application on the way. It better be free too and have some great functionality! Until then there is a wonderful application called Shovel. It only lets you read the stories on Digg, you can’t comment or anything but that is Digg’s fault. They don’t open their API for developers to do so.

#1 – Any Twitter App

Twitter is an ultimate way to pass the time. At least in my opinion. It’s so awesome to have a simple way to see what the whole world is talking about. Not to mention your followers. Interact with people across the world. It may just be me but I find that a very awesome opportunity. Here you have quite the choice of apps to use. My favorite three have been Tweetie, Tweetdeck and Twittelator Pro. There are so many though so make your own decision if you don’t like mine.

So that is that, this is how I pass the time when I’ve got nothing better to do. That’s a rare occurrence but it does happen. I’m addicted to my iPhone and it definitely is nice to have around for instances such as this. Let me know what you think. Even if not feasible, it’s always nice to dream. Obviously as Fall is upon us the temperature of each day keeps dipping and dipping. As I walked to class today in the coldest morning of the Fall yet, I wanted to be able to take the temperature with my iPhone. Fall is my favorite season, closely rivaled by spring. I just to love to be able to layer clothing and wear long sleeves, hoodies, scarves, etc… I guess it’s kind of my thing.

Needless to say what would it be like to have a thermometer on the iPhone? We have other things on the iPhone like a stinking compass… seriously! Although I do use the compass for photography and the compass makes a little more sense since it works well together with all of the map applications, why can’t we have a thermometer? Here is a novel idea… Imagine this as a press release.

Today, Apple has reinvented the fast food/health inspection industry. With a 3rd party accessorie made by the FDA you can now test the temperature of the food in every restaurant you’ve ever inspected with the FDA’s new health inspector app. Simply take your government issued iPhone and download the app and tell it what state you are inspecting in or let it find your location automatically. From there the app loads all of the specifications for that state among other things. The main feature of the app works with our 3rd party accessorie issued by your states health department. It plugs into the bottom of the iPhone and at the other end is a metal prong that simply extends the iPhone’s built in thermometer functions. Test the temperature of the meat and more with this new accessorie. When the temp is set you simply leave it at that. A report is automatically put together along with other info you input, and uploaded to the states database. This automatically notifies the health department if further action is needed, either to award the restaurant or shut it down until quality improves. The database further pushes the data to other health related websites and updates their certificates and posts their scores so you the consumer can see which food joints rate the highest in your area.

There is also an app for the food enthusiasts out there, that puts all of this information automatically at your hands. Using GPS the app will find the restaurants around you and shows you the highest rated. Thanks to Apple and their iPhone, this is all made possible.

That was just one scenario I imagined coming from this functionality. Imagine Apple reinventing the food inspection industry! Anything is really possible with the iPhone. But what if it had a built in thermometer? What uses can you imagine for it? Leave me a comment and let me know your genius idea, or just let me know that a thermometer is an idiot idea. As always thanks for reading, happy hump day to everyone.

Apple iPhone News, Reviews, Hacks, and More Copyright 2008 iPhone Nuts. If I were to guess and be gracious with my guess, I’d say at least %90 of America loves coffee. They may not love Starbucks coffee, but they are still addicted to the little brown bean. Personally I really love Starbucks beans. I usually make my coffee in a French Press, which you should try if you haven’t. My favorites right now are the Guatemala Antigua, and the Italian Roast. Two very different flavors, but both wonderful. Writing this I feel like I can almost taste the coffee. So when I heard Starbucks released two apps for all iPhone owners and they were free, I had to check them out. What do the two apps do, and why did they make two apps? Read on to see what each app does.

The first app is called myStarbucks, and it’s really the app I’d focus on if I were Starbucks. We’ll discuss that more later. myStarbucks is a multi purpose app, but at the front it seems to be a store finder. It does it well too using Google Maps and a Starbucks themed interface. There isn’t much else to mention about this feature. It asks to find your location and shows the nearest Starbucks to your GPS location. Simple and easy, it works well too.

It’s next feature is that you can build your own drink. You can share this drink with friends, but one thing I wish they would add would to be able to send this drink as an order to your nearest Starbucks. From campus on my way to church I pass the local Starbucks, and it’d be awesome to send in my order as I leave school. It’d then be ready for pickup at the drive-thru on my way to church. Just imagine how awesome that would be? If you are listening Starbucks, implement that and do it quickly! Fall is here and I’m anticipating some of your fall time drinks.

Now there is a really cool part of the app where you can add your favorite foods, drinks, beans, and stores. You can search and add beans or drinks to your list and even use it as a to try list. Which is kind of what I’m doing with mine. I love their oatmeal by the way. It really is perfect. I’ve been going through their coffees and finding ones that sound interesting and different from what I already have. When I’m ready for more I’ll go pick them up from my local store. AWESOME.

The second app isn’t as featured, but it does do one thing with an interesting twist. If you have a Starbucks card you can turn the iPhone into your actual card. Just put in your info and then at the cash register you can scan your iPhone to charge your card. So cool. I hope a lot of companies come out with this functionality. I’d love to not carry around a wallet anymore. I only would have to carry and ID around. I don’t use cash, and I could get rid of all my cards on my iPhone. Paired with MobileMe I have no worries about my iPhone being stolen and card info used. I can remote wipe it incase of emergency. Then restore from backup once everything is figured out. Here is the interface of this app.

Personally, there is no need for two apps. Combine this app into the first Starbucks app and you are golden Starbucks. Overall I love the Starbucks app, but then again I do love their coffee too. If you aren’t a fan of Starbucks then there is no need for this app in your life. Both of these apps are free and are hopefully pushing some boundaries for restaurants and card holders. Check them out if you love coffee and let me know what you think. It’s much appreciated. Have a great day everyone!

Apple iPhone News, Reviews, Hacks, and More Copyright 2008 iPhone Nuts. So please forgive me for the absence. If you must know I’ve been traveling playing drums at different youth camps. It’s been a lot of fun, and a good excuse to get off of my computer and get some sunshine and good vitamin D. Of course I’ve taken my iPhone with me and have been using it heavily to document the experience. The new iPhone 3G S has a great camera as you all know and it’s worked great for me. So with that in mind let’s continue on with this series talking about taking photos on the iPhone. These apps aren’t limited to the iPhone 3G S, which makes them great to use on any iPhone and perhaps some new iPod Touches after they are updated. That’s the rumor anyways.

So the app I want to talk about today is one of those apps that is aiming to be a one stop shop for many of the edits you’d like to do to your photos. The app is called Photogene and I believe it goes for a cool $2.99. Like I’ve said before there hasn’t been just one app that does it all for me, but ones like Photogene do do a lot and are worth a try. I am personally keeping Photogene because it does a lot of the normal maintenance to a photo that not many other apps do. So let’s get into it and see what Photogene is all about.

As you can see above is the main menu of Photogene. You can take a new photo, edit an existing one, continue from a previous session, or just check out some information about the app. Those are all pretty standard for any iPhone photo app. Then there is what at first looked like an ad to me, after it loaded though it’s just a link to their website’s FAQ section. Just in case you are a little too confused about how to use this app. I chose to use a previous picture I had taken so let’s check out the tool bar.

This is the tool bar for the app. The picture is easily displayed on the screen and the skinny black tool bar offers the tools for you to use. It does a good job of keeping the tools off of the picture and letting you see the shot and tools at the same time. So a thumbs up on this interface.

The first tool is selected as you can see by it being highlighted in a blueish green square. The scissor tool is the crop tool. Tap that to easily set your crop area and crop out anything unwanted from the photo. Like an ex boyfriend or something. There are the bottom are some aspect ratios to choose from if you wanted to turn the shot into a widescreen shot with 16:9 or something else with the other ratios below. So crop away to your hearts content

If you could guess by what the arrows mean is that it’s the rotation tool. If you need to rotate a photo in any way then this is the tool for you. You can even apply some keystone and straightening if the photo really needs it. You could also avoid this tool by shooting the photo right in the first place, but I know there are some times you just need to rotate it. Photogene has you covered.

The next tool is what they call the filter tool, represented by a funnel. I guess changing the oil filter and oil reminds them of photo filters. Here you can sharpen the photo or add some effects like B&W or Sepia, or a sketched effect with the pencil slider. Just a little fun to mess with, please don’t go overboard though hah.

The next tool, the color too, is a very useful tool in all photo editing apps. You can help correct some of the levels if your exposure wasn’t perfect, and it may never be on an iPhone. You can add some vividness or saturation, or even change the RGB values if you don’t like the current color settings.

The next few tools are where the app allows you to add some fun and goofy effects. You can add what looks like some caption bubbles, in five different styles might I add. The next tool will help you add frames to your photo. there are some presets followed by custom frames and backgrounds. There are even some special effects under the frame tool. Check them out to see what they do.

Finally you are satisfied with your photo. You can tap the bottom tool button, it looks like a check mark, and save your masterpiece back to your camera roll. Then email it, upload it to Flickr, etc… just show off what you and Photogene accomplished together. Often what I do is take the edited photo into another app and edit it some more. The main thing is to just have fun and end up with a great photo. Be sure to twitpic it and show it to me, haha. So what do you think about Photogene, is it worth the money or should I find another app that does this better? Leave me some comments! Thanks for reading.

Apple iPhone News, Reviews, Hacks, and More Copyright 2008 iPhone Nuts. You missed your big chance to take the spotlight and say, “wireless charging was impossible until we came along…” Just imagine all of the free press you would have got for allowing us to charge our iPhones wirelessly. We all know the press eats up Apple news. Anytime Steve Jobs goes for a walk NBC, ABC, and the rest treat it almost as good as Obama. Haha, but now Palm has beaten Apple to the wireless charging, and it’s been boring.

Now you know, if Palm beats Apple to something then Apple is really dragging it’s feet. Palm finally created an answer to the iPhone, albeit almost two years late. While I will say there is nothing impressive about the Palm Pre, I will give to it the first cell phone to give us consumers a feature we’ve been wanting for some time. Personally I wondered if this technology was this close to being mass produced and ready for us consumers, but obviously it’s here and waiting for us to use it. It’s always been Apple’s technique to wait though. The iPod was VERY late coming to the digital music player market, but Apple got it right and it was a smash hit. Perhaps this is what will happen again with wireless charging. I just hope it comes to the new iPhone that is coming in June. I’ll be getting it definitely.

What good is wireless charging some of you may ask. Well if they paired it with both wireless syncing and wireless charging I’d love it. Wireless syncing could come through the form of Wifi and the charging pad would sit plugged in somewhere. This frees up one USB port for your computer with this configuration. Right now I have to leave my iPhone in it’s dock by my computer which is nowhere near my bed, and since I use it as an alarm clock I have to get out of my top bunk in my dorm room and shut off my iPhone. I wish I could plug in the charging pad and put it on my night stand. It could then easily sync through Wifi and charge as it sits on it’s pad. That lint trap they call the 30 pin dock connector could be done away with as well. If it charges and syncs wireless there is no need for the dock connector. That could free up some internal space for a front facing video camera and bigger battery

I’d also love to just walk into my room, on the same wireless network as my computer and it automatically start syncing. It’s one last thing to worry about. Just know when you are in range your iPhone will be synced and up to date. I’d love it. So what about you? Do you think going completely wireless would benefit the iPhone? I could see it adding many benefits, but possibly issues as well. Leave me some feedback and let me know what you think. Thanks for reading!

<table style="border: 0pt none; Hah, get it. That’s a big joke. Atleast it has been entirely a joke ever since the birth of the iPhone. How could Apple make such an oversight and forget to include a way to copy and paste on this genius device? Well personally I don’t think Apple has overlooked it, and if they have…MAN WHAT’S THE HOLD UP?! It seems such an easy function as copy and paste could be easily added to our iPhone’s vast abilities. Forever is about how long we have all pined for copy & paste on our iPhones. I’m afraid it’s made many iPhone users sick to their stomaches and some have yet to get an iPhone because it’s lacking this essential function. Well today I can be semi proud and say the iPhone has copy & paste…sort of.

Now when I say sort of, you need to give me some room to explain. This isn’t a sanctioned Apple method to copy and paste, but it does work…sort of. So let me explain then how this does work so I can quit saying sort of…sort of. To get this copy and paste to work you must first visit the website pastebud.com, from there you will receive EASY to use instructions on how to setup your iPhone for some awesome copy and pasting. On the right sidebar you will notice three quick instructions to get this going, and they are as follows. First there two options that say Copy then Paste, drag those to your address bar, or save them as a bookmark somehow. That’s all that matter. As long as you can sync those to your iPhone you will be in good shape. From there you should add the email address if gives you once you click on the link that says “secret pastebud address.” You’ll want that email address saved for full copy and paste functionality. Especially if you want to use it in your emails. If you just want to copy and past between webpages, say between some text you find and Twitter, all you need are the two bookmarks saved.

Once you’ve got that all settled you need to sync up your iPhone. Make sure you get those bookmarks and email address added and synced up. After you let your iPhone go through it’s sync you are ready to learn how to use this new copy and paste trick. For Safari you just need to find a webpage, article, link, to copy and once you are on the page open up your bookmarks and tap COPY. Then if you wanted to post that as a Twitter status mosey on over to Twitter. Once you are logged in and ready to tweet open your bookmarks once more and tap PASTE. This will then give you a green option over any text entry fields. Tap where it says Paste Here, and that’s it! You’ve officially copied & pasted on the iPhone, something not many people have done out of fear Apple may find them and bring them down!

If you want to do some copy & pasting in mail, it’s just as simple. It is critical though that you’ve got your secret pastebud email saved as a contact. I obviously saved mine a pastebud, easy to remember right? First open up the email you want to copy from and forward that to your secret pastebud email. Then just wait a second and pastebud will send you an email back with a link to copy the email text. From there you can again update a service like Twitter or send an email again with that certain text you highlighted.

Pastebud is a light in a dark tunnel for the iPhone. It shows us how easy copy & paste could be implemented, please Apple hear us. It’s painfully clear people want it if other 3rd parties have figured out a way to copy & paste somehow. For me pastebud works very well and I will be using it as long as Apple hasn’t given us their version of copy & paste yet. I just really hope Apple has something up their sleeve, along with that dang push service. Apple better step it up. Need less to say, watch my video below to get a better grasp on how to use pastebud. It’s so shiny, smooth, and sexy. Apple is a GOD for building such a device, particularly Steve Jobs. We all know if you could you would bow before him and never stop worshipping him. This phone is slick. It’s got Wi-fi in it, unlimited internet from AT&T. I’m so incredibly jealous of your iPhone, wait… except for the fact that I have the iPhone 3G… So suck on that fool. I even sold my old one for more than I payed for this new one. Who’s the chump now?

iPhone etiquette needs to happen, and we need to set some guidelines NOW! I know we’ve experienced annoyance coming from an iPhone owner. It actually probably was me, sorry about that guys. Thankfully though, I’ve forged out on my own to set three quick and simple guidlines to make sure you and I don’t over use your iPhone and annoy anyone around you. Us iPhone owners can sit smug knowing our phone rules them all, while everyone else grovels with their Blackberries and Windows Mobile phones, YUCK!

Here are my quick three major annoyances with iPhone owners…

App Wars

This one is pretty self explanatory. You with your iPhone and all those mighty apps you emptied your savings account on happen upon another iPhone user and thus starts the app war. “Hey man you have an iPhone? Totally sweet, check out these apps I’ve got for mine. Do you have that one? Oh you don’t, what a loser man. You should definitely get it. Yeah, it cost $999 so what. This iPhone is worth it.” You know one of those guys don’t you? Perhaps you’ve even had a woman start and app war with you, I don’t know. These iPhone users have become rabid with their app collections. Personally, I just collect most of the free, nerdy ones… Like the recipe book, haha. Take that Martha.

Internet Speed Races

This quirk involves more than just iPhone users. Since the iPhone went 3G this summer I’ve always got people either without an iPhone, with an iPhone, or with another “Smart Phone” that want to race our internet speeds. Sometimes I just feel like cheating and leaving my iPhone on Wi-fi because they are so dumb. For example…“Oh, dude let’s see who’s phone downloads faster. My Blackberry curve vs. your iPhone. Ready, set, GO!!” I usually win because I’m cheating on Wi-fi, but that quickly shuts up his/her Blackberry braggin’ mouth. It may even be worth it to just automatically let them win without going through the pain of the Speed drag race. Ugh, it’s to hard to explain how much better my iPhone is than yours…

I Can Find That, Hold On

Last but not least this is the type of iPhone owner that means well, but just overuses the fact that he has an iPhone. I’m very guilty of this and it’s hard not to be caught red handed from this, but the iPhone is really that valuable. For instance say you and your lady want to find movie times. She might actually call the movie theater, but no, that’s not good enough for you. You whip out the iPhone and launch the movie theater finder app. It locates you and finds the closest theater, it even offers to buy your tickets for you. All while your lady is sitting through the automated voice on the other line. Score one for the iPhone! In reality though you might of just scored one for the dog house. There are times when it’s appropriate to use your iPhone for all the good it does. Then there are others when you should just keep that thing tucked in your pocket…Don’t Google everything for everyone when ever they need it.

With all of that off of my chest, what do you think?
