Flash On The iPhone?

April 30, 2010 by Ryan Ray · 1 Comment

Who wants Flash on their iPhone? Please raise your hands, then if you wouldn’t mind please help me understand why the iPhone would benefit from Flash. I’m not wanting to start a flame war, just give me your honest opinion on why the iPhone should have Flash on it. If you are wondering why I’m asking this age old question then you’ve missed out on some news this week.

Steve Jobs has come out with another one of his famous ‘open letters’ and this time it’s directed at Adobe and Flash. First you can start by reading it, Thoughts On Flash. Then shortly after that the same day, the CEO of Adobe granted an interview to which he tried to rebuttle everything Steve Jobs said. If you’d like to read more here is that interview, Adobe On Flash. So after digesting both of those here is what I think. Read on to get my humble opinion on Flash and Flash on the iPhone.

Thoughts On iPhone 4G Prototype

April 26, 2010 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment

Wait, that’s potentially what it could look like? I’m in love! When the prototype of a potential iPhone case design leaked I was in shock. How did this leak happen to Apple, the worlds most secretive company. Sure enough though, it’s real. If you really want to read all about the leaked prototype check out Gizmodo and their all encompassing coverage of the iPhone 4G Prototype. But if you are sticking around for a minute please let me divulge in my thoughts about the device.

iPhone OS 4.0 Is Here

April 8, 2010 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment

Today is the day Apple takes the wraps off of iPhone OS 4.0, and I’m actually excited and really left in the dark about what they could be bringing besides multitasking. I’m not getting my hopes up though, for fear of disappointment. I’ve lived fine without multitasking but in other areas I’m really looking forward to what Apple will bring forward today. I hope that if possible you all will be following the live streams. Just click on the following links to see each sites unique coverage. I usually have these 3 or more open at the same time, just so I don’t miss anything…

iPhone OS 4.0 To Bring Multitasking

March 12, 2010 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment

Can you believe it is already time for the 4th iteration of the iPhone OS? We celebrated and rejoiced when we finally received copy and paste in iPhone 3.0, so what’s going to make 4.0 special? Of course the rumor mills are churning and churning as the time for a new iPhone and new software is getting near.

The big feature that seems like everyone wants is multi tasking, surprised? Nope, I wasn’t either. The iPhone already does some multi tasking in the background. You can continue to play music from the iPod app as you do other things. Also email is always running, it checks to see if you have mail based either on push notifications or different time intervals you already setup in the settings. So why aren’t people happy with this, and what will true multi tasking look like?

First off, happy Wednesday to you. Here in Indiana it’s dreary and a little chilly. As I write to you though I’m warm indoors with a nice sweater and coffee. Perfect fall setting. With that in mind I wanted to ask you, what are your favorite apps for fall? I’m building a post for that, and want you the reader to have input on the post. Just trying something new. Leave a comment and tell me some of your favorite Halloween apps, apps for fall, etc…GET CREATIVE.

Bands With iPhone Apps

October 9, 2009 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment

Happy stinking Friday to everyone out in the land of the internet. Fridays always bring joy to everyone, I won’t say for certain no matter what, but usually this is true. Even though the weather has turned to crap around campus here in Indiana, I’m sure somewhere the sun is shining perfectly. Todays post won’t be just another goofy app review, I’ve been noticing a new trend among the iPhone community and wanted to highlight that and weigh in with my opinion on it. Of course after you’ve digested what I’ve said, please do weigh in on this discussion with your opinions and ideas. Keeping thoughts to yourself never helps spread the idea of thinking! So read on.

iPhone OS 3.1 Quick Review

September 16, 2009 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment

It’s only been a few days now since the big Apple iPod bonanza, and of course they didn’t leave out their precious iPhone from any of the updates. It is after all an iPod too. It wasn’t any big news, iTunes 9 is pretty cool. They did bring back the 160GB iPod Classic. I have one of those before they killed it then brought it back. The nano got a camera and the iPod Touch really didn’t get anything spectacular.

As for the iPhone, she got a little update from 3.0 to 3.1. Some welcomed features, and breaks some things that we won’t speak of. Here is a rough run down of the fixes and new additions…

What The iPhone Needs; Waterproof Sealing

August 24, 2009 by Ryan Ray · 2 Comments

Welcome back to what I like to call wishful thinking, otherwise known as What The iPhone Needs. My own little, sort of, column where I can dream and complain about what I think the iPhone needs. It’s been awhile since I’ve done one of these, and since today I’m on the road moving back to school I thought it was about time to just vent.

Photos On The iPhone Wrapped Up!

Photos On The iPhone

That series is finally gone and out of the way. I’m slightly sad to see it go as I love photography, but it’s time to move on. There are so many photo apps in the app store that you could almost make a whole website devoted to photography on the iPhone 3GS. None the less, I wanted to add one last post to wrap up the series. A simple way to quickly go over the apps, and the pros and cons that come with each one.

Apple iPhone 3GS Review Roundup

June 17, 2009 by Ryan Ray · 1 Comment

It’s been a crazy day for me here in my house. I’m working on my very own iPhone 3.0 review plus other video reviews to publish soon, I’m also trying to clean up and get work done for other clients despite leaving for a month on tour if the midwest. I haven’t started packing for that yet, that’s for tomorrow I guess. If you were unaware the new iPhone 3.0 software was released today, although it’s been available for awhile if you looked hard enough or torrented it. It was the same seed that the developers got just earlier this month, and sadly for us here in the U.S. AT&T is still slow on delivering us MMS and tethering. It’s really irritating isn’t it? The iPhone 3GS also comes out in two days, and if the person who bought mine would hurry and send me the payment I’d be going out to get my very iPhone 3GS to review for you all. You know, just part of the job. If I’m blogging about the iPhone I’ve got to have the latest and greatest right? Haha, none the less I sold my iPhone 3G and it pretty much paid for my iPhone 3GS.
