5 Things I Want From WWDC ‘10

May 25, 2010 by Ryan Ray

If you are one of the Mac faithful you know that WWDC is coming up in just about 2 weeks. WWDC stands for World Wide Developer Conference and is obviously put on by Apple for all things OS X. They usually use WWDC to launch a new iPhone on the first day, then talk about everything from Safari to Core services the rest of the week. Often they give those attending the first seed of a new version of OS X, but we’ll see what happens this year. Besides all that hoopla, there are a few things I want to see from WWDC ‘10. So here they are in no particular order…

Has Apple Lost Their Secrecy?

May 19, 2010 by Ryan Ray

We all know how tight lipped Apple is about their upcoming products. This is nothing new for people who have been following Apple and their rumors for awhile. It’s very curious to try and get a peek inside to peer at the inner workings of how Apple works. Let’s take the iPhone for example, it was in development for two years. At least according to Steve Jobs. People on the outside had little hints that it was coming. The domain iPhone was registered to Apple, and it only made sense that Apple would come a long and save the cellphone from the cell carriers. People working on the iPhone outside of Apple didn’t dare risk the rath of Steve Jobs for letting the cat out of the bag about this product. It was going to bring millions or billions of dollars for their company if the product is successful, and more often than not Apple is successful.

Move Nuts With The iPhone

May 19, 2010 by Ryan Ray

Finally, the day has come! There’s a funny, novelty iPhone app that has their sights set after our heart. Not that the app is called iPhone nuts or anything, if someone still wants to make one with our namesake ;) The app does combine the iPhone and nuts though. The app is called Magic Mover and apparently can do just that.

It can move random objects with your iPhone. I don’t know if you remember ever seeing this app but these guys are the same people who created an app that can move objects by blowing air. This one essentially does the same thing but with vibration. Check out their site if you want to see their other pretty funny apps.

5 Ways To Not Brick Your iDevice

May 16, 2010 by Ryan Ray

I’ve caught the iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch development fever and I’m ashamed of myself right now. I have officially bricked my first iPhone. I’ve been learning the basics of objective-c and the ins and outs of Xcode and had even started my first simple app just so I could play around. Then I had a brilliant idea, torrent 4.0 and put it on my iPhone. I thought it would be cool to see if I could run OS 4.0 without actually registering my device in the 99$ a year program. That was n00b mistake #1 in what will be the thousands as I try to learn to code for the app store. By the way, I love making interfaces for these sorts of things so if any one wants to partner and help me with the code I’m all for it! So here are my top 5 ways to not brick your iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch, any stinkin’ iDevice…
