Paypal’s iPhone App
October 2, 2010 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment
I assume since you are on a computer and surfing a site about the iPhone that you are technologically smart. That means we all know about Paypal and what Paypal does. Just incase you aren’t aware Paypal is the best way (IMHO) to send money online. This means paying rent, paying for items on Ebay (Since Ebay owns the company). As well as many other sites like this one. You can also receive money among other things too. Heck they even offer business accounts and their very own credit card company. So what does that mean for the iPhone, you guessed it. They have their own Paypal app for it!
Is Foursquare Safe?

We’re at a strange crossroads in our always on social lives here. Smart phones are making our lives ever so much better, but could they also cause harm to our personal lives with how much we share? I used Foursquare as the poster child for this post but I’ll be naming more than just Foursquare as culprits.
App Store Updates Like Christmas Morning
September 29, 2010 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment
This is going to be quite the light hearted post. Just wanted to break the rhythm of reviewing apps, demanding this or that from Apple, etc… Today I wanted to talk about one of my favorite things about the iPhone and it’s app store. That of course is App updates.
We all know how important the developers are to the platform, and how awesome they are too! These developers work their magic and they work it often in the app store. Much faster than any other platform out there. Mac OS X updates for it’s software or for itself don’t even come close to coming this fast. This is one thing that is different and that makes the app experience on the iPhone lots of fun.
AirPlay & The iPhone

For us in the jailbreak community software updates are usually late coming for us. We make sure we can preserve our jailbreak status before even touching the newest software from Apple. We all know that upgrading will erase any notion of a jailbreak that you used to enjoy. With that said I’m very tempted to dump jailbreak for this new feature that will be coming along with the iOS 4.2 update.
Sleep Cycle Alarm App

This may be old new for some of you, but as of recently this is the coolest thing that I’ve stumbled on for the iPhone. The app is called Sleep Cycle and it’s quite a bit more than your traditional alarm clock app. The app will sense your motion and then try to wake you up with soothing sounds when you are in your lightest stage of sleep. This is such a genius idea and a very cool use of the accelerometer in the iPhone. There are other apps apparently that also try to replicate the same idea, but this one is only 0.99 cents so of course I’m trying this one first. On the last row, the only icon there, is what their icon looks like. Am I happy about it…. nope. They could definitely use a new icon!
AppShopper Review

This is definitely going to be a cool thing to use in the future. The website AppShopper.com has just released their very own iPhone app. A great move on their part, I’m definitely a fan. If you’ve never used AppShopper before their site will help you find apps that have been updated, price changed, etc… It’s a great community to find new apps, it’s also a great place for smaller developers to get some exposure. Just be sure to check out the site to see for yourself what I’m talking about.
Game Center v. OpenFeint
September 1, 2010 by Ryan Ray · 9 Comments
Here are two things that I don’t know much about that both relate to the iPhone, they are both two similar takes on a gaming platform for the iPhone and iPod. I’ll come out right now and say that I’m much more in favor of Apple’s take on it, but in all fairness I’ve never used either of them. I have tried to use OpenFeint on a few occasions and sign up through a few great apps I have, but it never worked for me. Pocket God and Mini Squadron are two fantastic games that use OpenFeint to keep track of scores, achievements, etc… This is what Apple is also setting out to do with Game Center.
Apple Store App

Hey everyone surfing out there in iPhone land. How about that iPhone 4? We’ll talk more about that later. First let’s mention the online Apple store. Apple finally got around to making an app for the iPhone where you can shop for all Apple products online. All is well in the app, it’s easy to use and is your staple online store app. Has all their products, categories, cart, store finder, etc… I always wonder if anyone out there will be ordering more Apple products from their iDevices more so than they would just walking into the stores, but I guess Apple saw a need for this app so let’s check it out.
3 Things To Do While You Wait To Preorder The iPhone 4
June 15, 2010 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment
Happy “Pre-Order iPhone 4 Day” everyone! Too bad not everyone can pre-order theirs that easily. It appears a lot of servers are down today. Apple’s are struggling, AT&T’s were, perhaps even Radio Shack, & Best Buy had hiccups. People are apparently going nuts for the iPhone 4. I will be picking mine up in store, so I won’t be pre-ordering. I also have to sell my 3GS first,

iPhone 4 Hands Off Review
June 11, 2010 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment
Hands off? What do you mean hands off? Well sadly I am not a mainstream, fancy pants, blogger and can’t work my way into WWDC. This is where after the Keynote lots of high profile bloggers could get their hands on the iPhone 4 and see what it’s all about. Instead I get to look at their pictures and say ooo ahh until the day the iPhone comes out and I rush to get it ASAP. See I’m just a normal person like you! Haha, anyway thanks to Engadget for letting me poach their pictures so I could help illustrate my favorite parts of the new iPhone 4. That’s what we are going to do today, the last post talked about just the new hardware so now we’ll talk about what I’m really excited about on the new iPhone. Let’s get started shall we?
