3 Ways To Waste Time On The iPhone

October 26, 2009 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment

Monday is here again, the slow, boring day that it usually is. While some of you head to work, I must head to class and take tests, quizzes, etc… Speaking of that I want to apologize for a lackluster week last week. Besides being super busy my Great Grandmother passed away and I was back in MO for the services. Now that I’ve caught up to class and work I’ve a break to talk to you about 3 of my favorite apps to help pass the time away. Now I’m not saying that during work, or class you should be utilizing these techniques to pass the time. Although I will admit that I am very guilty of doing so, these are for when you have time to kill and would rather use an app to do so instead of counting the threads in the carpet.

FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY! Thank the Lord it’s Friday here in Indiana! I’ve only been back for two days after an extended Fall Break in Missouri. Anyway I hope your Friday has started out well, let’s keep it light hearted as we talk about the iPhone today.

Wallpapers, do you use them on your iPhone? When I ask that, I know you have to have one by default. You can’t get away from using them, so do you really pay attention to it and care for your iPhone wallpaper? If not today is the day for a revolution for all iPhone owners out there and their respective wallpapers. Long Live WALLPAPERS!

It’s hump day, and today we’re going to talk about an Adobe product brought to the iPhone. Sadly for all of you flash lovers out there this is not flash on the iPhone. But for us photo lovers out there, Adobe has released a very light version of Photoshop for the iPhone. At first it sounds REALLY exciting right? Photoshop on the iPhone, but don’t get THAT excited.

Layar Brings Augmented Reality To The iPhone

It’s another Monday post again, Happy Monday to all out there. It seems like here in the midwest that the weather has picked back up to normal Fall levels. Sunny with crisp air in the 60′s! It’s great out there. Hope the weekend treated you well. Now let’s get into some iPhone stuff!

Augmented reality is the next great thing coming to the iPhone. Good news for us is that it doesn’t require much, except for maybe the iPhone 3GS. For augmented reality to work it needs to have GPS and a compass. You might be able to get by with other versions of the iPhone but the iPhone 3GS will do it best! Of course you can always upgrade like I did!

First off, happy Wednesday to you. Here in Indiana it’s dreary and a little chilly. As I write to you though I’m warm indoors with a nice sweater and coffee. Perfect fall setting. With that in mind I wanted to ask you, what are your favorite apps for fall? I’m building a post for that, and want you the reader to have input on the post. Just trying something new. Leave a comment and tell me some of your favorite Halloween apps, apps for fall, etc…GET CREATIVE.

Bands With iPhone Apps

Happy stinking Friday to everyone out in the land of the internet. Fridays always bring joy to everyone, I won’t say for certain no matter what, but usually this is true. Even though the weather has turned to crap around campus here in Indiana, I’m sure somewhere the sun is shining perfectly. Todays post won’t be just another goofy app review, I’ve been noticing a new trend among the iPhone community and wanted to highlight that and weigh in with my opinion on it. Of course after you’ve digested what I’ve said, please do weigh in on this discussion with your opinions and ideas. Keeping thoughts to yourself never helps spread the idea of thinking! So read on.

What The iPhone Needs; A Real Thermometer

October 7, 2009 by Ryan Ray · 10 Comments

Welcome to another post in the ongoing series, “What The iPhone Needs!” Created simply to give me a place to go on a rant at anytime when I think of something perhaps a little too obscure to be a reality for the iPhone. Even if not feasible, it’s always nice to dream. Obviously as Fall is upon us the temperature of each day keeps dipping and dipping. As I walked to class today in the coldest morning of the Fall yet, I wanted to be able to take the temperature with my iPhone. Fall is my favorite season, closely rivaled by spring. I just to love to be able to layer clothing and wear long sleeves, hoodies, scarves, etc… I guess it’s kind of my thing.

All of College Football At Your Fingertips.

It’s Monday, I know. I feel it too, I just played in a one day ultimate tourney yesterday and my body is beat up. Not to mention doing home work and trying to keep up with everything all weekend. Now I’m here sleep deprived and making it through the day with some coffee and patience. This Monday I’m going to be trying something new for my review writing skills. Care to take a guess what that is? If you guessed sports then you are correct. I’ve yet to review any of the sports apps, and considering it’s fall and definitely football season we’re going to get into it.
