The iPhone Video & My Thoughts

June 6, 2009 by Ryan Ray · 4 Comments

There are some crazy rumors starting to swirl, no wait not swirl, FLY around like crazy. It of course is par for the course since WWDC is less than two days away. But one thing that I’ve noticed hasn’t grabbed that many headlines is the rumor about the new iPhone being called the iPhone Video. I have been wondering what Apple is going to call the new iPhone since we have the original and plain old iPhone, then we have the new and improved iPhone 3G, but what about the next gen. What will this version of the iPhone be called? It would make sense that Apple would just continue to call it the iPhone 3G, and maybe add some moniker like V2. Once I read about the iPhone Video name though it makes a little more sense as what their naming scheme may be.

My Top 3 Rumors For The iPhone At WWDC

As all of us know, us crazy Mac faithful…err maybe I should just go with iPhone faithful as we all don’t have Macs, that the World Wide Developers Conference is upon us. The World Wide Developers Conference, otherwise known as WWDC, will be taking place in 4 short days. It has in the past been a place for all of the super nerdy but super inteligent Mac developers to come and learn about the new version of the OS, and new ways to develop great apps. In the recent past, as in the last two years it has been the launching pad for the iPhone and it’s newer brother the iPhone 3G. Since then WWDC has seemed to be iPhone first, Mac OS X second. While there is a great buzz and big expectations as to what’s going to happen with Snow Leopard, because there are no new features in Snow Leopard just simple under the hood improvements which I am very excited for personally. Everyone is really focused on the next generation of the iPhone. Again count me in as I’m very excited for it as well.

Home Improvement With The iPhone & iHandy Level

This is a great day to tell you about this fun app that combines the ultimate nerdism with a home improvement, handy man. It’s rainy and dreary outside where I am today which means I’m stuck inside. Rain is skateboarding’s worst enemy, rusty bearings, board splitting and warping, it’s just not good to skate in the rain. Fishing can sometimes be good, but it’s chilly and rainy out. Nothing’s worse than being soaked and chilly. Especially if it were on a boat in the middle of a lake. So those two are out of the question. A good game of ultimate frisbee can happen on a rainy day, but sadly I don’t know many people around here where I can quickly put together a game. So what am I left to do? Oh that’s right, home improvement. Thankfully the iPhone is there waiting with a hand full of apps ready to assist in our DIY projects.

AT&T Confirms Cheaper Rates Considered

We all know that owning an iPhone is a semi expensive phone to own. If you looked back to when the iPhone first came out you had to drop over $500 bucks just to get the base model. Not to mention on top of that you had to have a data plan to go along with your voice plan. I wish they would have kept that data plan the same for the iPhone 3G. On the original data plan you got unlimited data, visual voicemail, and 200 text messages all for $20 dollars a month. Since I’m on a family share plan, lucky me, my voiceline is only $10 a month so add the $20 and I owed about $35 every month after taxes on my line. This was great for me it was affordable for a student, especially since I have no other bills. Of course when I graduate I’ll be slammed with those student loan bills, but as of right now I’m only paying for my cell phone service every month. I do have things like a flickr account and web hosting, but those bills are due only once every two years. I sold my car once I started college so I don’t pay insurance or gas. Like I said the $35 was affordable.

Find What You Need With Where To?

Lucky me for having the pleasure to tell you about one of my favorite apps of all time. It may just be me but I’m a sucker for a good looking app and this one pulls it off well…am I the only one who likes a great interface? That’s probably what sold me on this one although the functionality could be accomplished without the app like one user said on YouTube, it’s just the interface and simple ability that makes me like this app better than just using Google Maps.
