Who Wants An iPhone Nano?
August 5, 2008 by Ryan Ray · 2 Comments
Long time iPhone fans have heard time upon time again the rumblings of a iPhone nano. It’s all rumors at the time, but many people are longing for an iPhone nano. It’s rumored a second time for release around Christmas time, but this time is it believable? With the first generation iPhone it would of made much more sense to have a cheaper iPhone Nano. It would of fit in very well in the product line just like the iPod line. This time though the iPhone 3G is already pretty cheap for a phone of this caliber, so what will they strip out of the iPhone 3G and put into the iPhone 3G Nano? What will they charge you for a stripped down iPhone 3G, and what if any changes to service plans will they make? Only time can tell if this product is even real…
The major question I ask is WHY?

AT&T gets the iPhone through 2010
August 5, 2008 by Emily Price · Leave a Comment
USA Today is reporting that the iPhone will be exclusive to AT&T through 2010, one year later than Apple’s original commitment to the company.
The iPhone’s price tag dropped for the 3G version thanks to the work of AT&T chairman Randall Stephenson. Stephenson was behind AT&T’s subsidy of the 3G iPhone. Where as the first generation iPhone was paid for completely by the consumer, the 3G version is subsidized by AT&T. For each iPhone sold AT&T is shelling out the remainder of the cost of the device to Apple, most analysts estimate around $300 a pop.

After much iRage over lagging and crashing apps the iPhone firmware update is now available through iTunes. On An Apple Safari – iPhone Web Surfing Tips
August 5, 2008 by Derek Walter · Leave a Comment
The iPhone’s Safari browser has revolutionized mobile web surfing. But even at 3G speeds, it’s not always the “Internet in your pocket” as Apple claims. 3G isn’t available everywhere, and even where it is you will notice a drop-off to EDGE. And at EDGE speeds, some web sites can be just a chore to load.
So how to make sure you surfing experience is a solid one? The best way is to hit as many optimized and mobile sites as you can. While having a full HTML browser is a great tool for being able to access any web site while you are out and about, there will be times where all that pinching and pulling can get tiring; and of course there is the occasional tapping of that link you didn’t mean to go to.

If you can’t tell what this post is going to be about then just slow down, breathe, re-read it and get ready for a real world test of the EDGE vs 3G networks. I know it’s exciting and the first for the website to actually get an EDGE and 3G test. It gets even better though than just a comparison with words. I brought along my GL2 to film as my girlfriend and I went to St. Louis. My cute lady kindly filmed for me. She’s already a pro if you were wondering, she helps man….errr woman the camera as I try to show you how cool my iPhone is. So call her up if you need a video made because I do, haha.
