SugarSync – Killer iPhone Productivity App
August 10, 2008 by Derek Walter · Leave a Comment
You get an email on your iPhone asking for your resume. Typically you would have to wait until you got back on your computer before being able to answer. Not anymore.
SugarSync is the best choice for iPhone users who want access to their docs, photos, and other files right on their iPhone. The iPhone optimized site, easy navigation and solid security make it a must-have for anyone who wants or needs synchronized file access.
Firmware 2.0.1, Placebo Or Real?
August 10, 2008 by Ryan Ray · Leave a Comment
By now we all know that the iPhone 2.0.1 software update is out. It’s probably on everyone’s iPhone as well. It supposedly was full of “bug fixes” as Apple calls all of their updates now. I really wish we received more info on what these updates correct. I remember when Apple used to let us know what the updates actually fixed. It would say something like “This update fixes the issue users were having with exporting photos as jpg’s.” Now we just know that it is a “bug fix.” So this could mean the iPhone 2.0.1 software was nothing more than a placebo. The iPhone 2.0.1 could have just been a sugar pill, or could it have been the real thing.

IBM to Release Lotus Notes for iPhone… as a Web App?
August 9, 2008 by Erik MacKinnon · Leave a Comment
IBM has pulled the covers off of its upcoming webapp – dubbed “IBM Lotus iNotes™ software” or “iNotes” - with the goal of allowing you seamless access to your work’s Lotus Notes-based contacts, calendar and email through your iPhone’s web browser.
The only question I have is… why a webapp? With the industry-standard Microsoft Exchange integrated with the Apple iPhone at the firmware level, IBM’s capable engineers owe their clients at least a dedicated iPhone application. Why, you might ask? Simple: PUSH.

Ever since this app was released the internetz are bubbling with the news and hatred of the thing. This is officially the worlds most expensive iPhone app. Usually iPhone apps are around $9.99 and less. I know there are few others that go slightly above, but NONE that about breach $1,000. If you haven’t heard anything about this then let me fill you in on the big news on this app. This app is called “I Am Rich.”
PwnageTool 2.0.2 has been Released – Download it Here
August 9, 2008 by Erik MacKinnon · 3 Comments
The iPhone Dev Team have sped things up and released PwnageTool 2.0.2, which can successfully jailbreak the newest 2.0.1 iPhone firmware from Apple. From the iPhone Dev Team’s official blog:
Good Morning!
Did you think we’d sleep? really?
Recommended method for updating is Sparkle (the internal updater inside PwnageTool) or using the Finder to decompress the files, don’t use command line tools to decompress as incorrect use will not preserve permissions, just double click the download above in the Finder.
Ambiance: Using Your iPhone to Escape from it All

Hello readers! Since this is my first post, I should probably introduce myself. I’m Erik MacKinnon – your newest contributor here on iPhone Nuts. I’ve edited and written numerous blogs over the past few years and I jumped at the opportunity to join the fantastic team here. Hopefully you’ll find my posts informative and entertaining! (I’ll aim for the latter.)
Ambiance – touted by developer Coneybeare Labs as an “environment enhancer” – is an intriguing new application that has recently hit the iPhone App Store and has burned its way up the rankings to become one of the top paid applications in a matter of three days.

Believe it or not there are the “not-so-serious” iPhone users out there. They aren’t impressed with Google docs nor with Exchange support. In fact they probably don’t even know what those mean, they have little knowledge of Microsoft Word and think Powerpoint presentation are the bomb. You know they are just out to live a little and have fun. To hell with productivity and the next big thing, just give them something to enjoy. Even some of us “workaholics” like to kick back and have fun, so let’s talk about two little applications that will let us do just that.
Secrets of The App Store
We all love the app store. One central spot to go and find that awesome app for your iPhone. Other “smartphones” don’t have this simple, easy to use spot to come and find the apps for their phones. They must scour the depths of Google, or Yahoo, etc… to track down an app that might take us iPhone users 2 minutes to find and download. Their “smartphones” can’t go and get the app by itself, they can only access and install apps from their desktop computers. Nothing like the beautiful app store on our iPhones. Even when updates are released to the apps those other phones have no idea that the app has been updated. Not the case for iPhone users. We really are quite lucky to have such a feature on our phones. But don’t let all of that goodness fool you for too long.
Find Your Meal With The iPhone

We all knew the iPhone does just about everything, so what can it do when it comes to food? Well I’ve got the solution for you. For the first time in HD video we’ll cover some great apps that can help you cure your craving. If that craving is for Seafood, Mexican, Chinese, or just some pizza and soda the iPhone will point you in the right direction. All of these apps were free, one (Google Maps) already comes on your iPhone. If you want to get one of these apps I’ll give you the links to the App store at the bottom of the post. So let’s get started shall we.
